ジェーン･グドールが２６歳からタンザニアのゴンベでチンパンジー研究を始めた経緯とフローやフィフィというチンパンジーの３世代に及ぶゴンベでのナショナル・ジェオグラフィの記録である。
動物の専門学校でこのＣＤを見せると、それまで騒がしかった教室は静まりかえり、終了後は多くの学生が感動した面持ちで家族や友人たちにもこのＣＤを見せたいので貸して欲しいと云ってきます。
高卒後勤めていながら、子供の頃の夢を捨てなかったグドールの生き方に感動！

ジェーングドールとチンパンジーの物語　評価：

サルに興味を持つ人なら、ジェーングドールの名前を一度は聞いたことがあるだろう。
実際、霊長類社会学や生態学は、彼女（と京大グループ）の功績なしには語れない。
その彼女が、チンパンジーとともにアフリカで過ごした22年間をかなり初期の段階から追ったドキュメンタリーであり、野生チンパンジーの生態を知る貴重な記録でもある。
もちろん、ドキュメンタリーと言っても、最初からカメラが入っていたのではないので、一部「再現ビデオ」もあるが、そんなことはたいした問題ではない。
霊長類学の歴史を知りたい人、チンパンジーが好きな人、アフリカが好きな人、皆に見て欲しい作品です。
